Day 1

Well this is definatley going to be an interesting time! How do I know this well God has already told me that I am going to learn a lot through this placement and also I can't work the darn laptop!!! All of the keys are in a different place, so instead if tapping away happily at a rate of knots this blogging business is going to take 3 times as long!!

Well I got here in one piece, the journey was easy but the wind was blowing me and my little car around so much I kept being pushed into the next lane on the motorway! But we made it! Stella was here to meet me (one of the English ladies who works in the office) and I was well fed! I came home to unpack the millions of things I had spent 5 hours on Monday packing, and went to sleep at 2am. I woke up late, on my first day: not the best of first impressions!! Oops.... !

Francis, the pastor, has talked me through the plan for my stay and it includes helping with the Alpha course, the Normandy prayer walk and the Jour J (D day) Conference in July, helping with the Youth and helping with the House group. I am going to be helping a single mum with her little girl when she goes to work.

Life is going to be simple, but that is fine by me! I am probably going to have Monday off, Thursday as my study day and maybe Saturday as a slower/quieter day too.

I can see that I am going to be dong a lot of little jobs here and there, running places with my car and helping people with little tasks, which although it will keep me busy and means I can bless the church in many ways, it is not what I am used to or what I had envisaged!

My french is awful!!!! after 3 weeks in Germany it has hidden itself away in the corner of my very small brain and is refusing to come out again.... frustrating but true.

So the first point of prayer is for my French to return so that I can communicate with the Pastor and the french little girl I am going to be looking after this evening!
